Tamang Family Corn Husk Dolls
Tamangs are indigenous inhabitants around the Kathmandu valley, especially central and eastern Nepal. Mainly Buddhist, they are engaged in the agricultural works and for porters in the Himalayas. The Tamang language originates from the TibetoBurmese family. Buddha Jayanti or Saga Dawa is the most important religious festival for Buddhist Tamangs.
The body of these dolls is made of recycled wooden products and dress from cornhusks while the box is made out of recycled paper.
