Direct Stereo
Direct Stereo causes the input stereo signal to
bypass the DSP circuitry so the pure signal is
output without any processing or data loss

192kHz/24-Bit DACs for All Channels
The RX-V457 uses extremely high
performance 192kHz/24-bit DACs for all 6
channels. They perform accurate sound field
reproduction for high quality multi-channel
sources, and for two-channel stereo, provide
outstanding separation and precise musical
delineation. They deliver superior low level
linearity with excellent full-scale performance.
Night Listening Enhancer and
SILENT CINEMA
During low-volume listening, such as late at
night, dynamic range suffers and you may
miss some sounds. The Night Listening
Enhancer offers two modes, Cinema and
Music, with three-level selectability, which will
ensure that you don't
miss movie dialogue or
quiet passages, or lose overall surround
spaciousness. It works
for all surround
programs, including
Dolby Pro Logic IIx.The SILENT CINEMA mode allows private
listening enjoyment of multichannel music or
movies, with an accurate simulation of
surround sound, through ordinary headphones.

Audio Delay for Lip Sync (0-160ms)
The latest display devices perform complex
internal processing, causing time lag in the
video signal. It is a small time difference, but
because the audio arrives first, the viewer may
feel that something is not natural. The Audio
Delay function for Lip Sync, matches the audio
to the timing of the output of the video on the screen, correcting the audio — video time lag.
Subwoofer Crossover Selection / Subwoofer
Phase Select
The RX-V457 provides a choice of nine
subwoofer crossover frequencies: 40, 60, 80,
90, 100, 110, 120, 160 and 200 Hz. In
addition to providing a wider range than
other receivers, the steps from 80 to 120 Hz
are only 10 Hz apart for more precise
selection.
Another feature for optimum bass sound. If
bass is weak or muddy, switching the phase of
the subwoofer will often improve performance.
HDTV Compatible 2 Component Video
Input and Output Terminals
Component Video inputs offer higher picture
quality, for use with units such as DVD players
that have Component Video output. The
frequency response of the component video
signal is 5Hz – 60MHz, making it compatible
with HDTV (720p, 1080i). The RX-V457 allows
you to connect two different components for a
choice of high quality video sources.
3 Digital Inputs
Optical and coaxial digital input terminals let
you connect high quality digital devices such
as a DVD player or certain cable or satellite
boxes.
