Yamaha's Pure Direct by bypassing unnecessary circuits
that can contribute to a degradation in sound quality,
while taking a more comprehensive approach to the
influence of the power supply on the audio signal. In this
improved special listening mode, the highest possible
signal purity is assured for both analog
and digital sources except HDMI audio
input, in either two-channel or multichannel
input.
Digital ToP-ART and High Current Amplification
The Digital ToP-ART design concept combines the latest
and best technologies, parts and circuit designs to
maximize sound quality. High Current Amplification uses
superior quality components from input to output to
achieve high
current power
with low
impedance.
Also, Yamaha
has completely
re-evaluated all
parts, choosing
only the finest
audio-grade
parts and
devices, such
as Burr-Brown
192 kHz/24-bit
DACs and redesigned
power supply
circuits for massive power and superlative sound quality.
In addition, the amplifiers are assignable for bi-amp
connections.
Full Analog Video Up-Conversion and Up-Scaling to
HDMI (1080i/720p) with TBC
Video composite, s-video and component signals are up-converted to HDMI output, with a
Time Base Corrector (TBC) in the
Analog Devices highperformance
encoder and
decoder. In addition, the RXV2600
also uses an Oplus™ highperformance
de-interlacer for the
best quality progressive video images (480i to 480p or
576i to 576p). It also upscales 480i or 576i signals to
1080i/720p high definition resolution. The de-interlacing
and up-scaling technologies used in the RX-V2600 are
superior to those of any other receiver in its class.
HDMI Interface
The RX-V2600 offers 2 in / 1 out
HDMI switching with analog video upconversion
features, providing the most advanced
method of delivering high quality video signals to a home
cinema system to enable the reproduction of DVD and
satellite TV sources with HD quality. Compatible with the
HDMI Ver. 1.1 format, it can also decode digital audio
signals from sources such as DVD-Audio, CD, Dolby
Digital and DTS.
Superior Custom Zone Control
Convenient operation
is assured thanks to
control of Main/Zone
2/Zone 3 power, FM/AM tuning, volume
and input select on the front panel,
along with a Zone 2 on-screen display,
Zone 2/3 tone control for ceiling- or wallmount
speakers and even a separate
Zone Remote Unit. For multi-room
custom installations, power amp
channels can be assigned for Zone 2
and Zone 3 without the need for extra
amplifiers. There is also an RS-232C
interface for a touch-panel controller.
On-Screen Display with GUI
An On-Screen GUI (Graphical User Interface) Display
makes operating the receiver easy
and intuitive. Five display
languages can be selected:
English, Spanish, French, German
and Japanese.

Programmes with 5 THX Select2 Programmes
Surround sound performance is not only amazingly
rich and realistic, it is extremely versatile, with a
choice of 22 surround programmes including latest
Dolby and DTS formats, CINEMA DSP programmes,

including Select2.
